Setting up a season
Use the season setup hub to create teams, register players, configure venues, and publish the schedule.
The season setup hub walks you through everything required to open a season for play. The progress percentage in the hero card reflects how many of the five setup tasks are complete; aim for 100% before the season's start date.
The five setup tasks
The hub shows five cards. Three of them — Teams, Registration, Venues — can be done in any order. The other two have a fixed order:
- Season Basics — name, dates, total weeks. This was set when you created the season; tap the card to edit.
- Teams & Captains — create the teams that will play this season and assign each one a captain.
- Player Registration — open the registration link and add players to the draft pool. The card shows registered count and how many have paid.
- Schedule & Venues — define the courts, game nights, and time slots. Setup happens at the league level (it carries across seasons), but each season needs at least one configured slot.
- Game Schedule — build and publish the round-robin. Locked until two teams exist, because there is nothing to schedule against.
A green check means a card is complete. A pulsing amber dot means in-progress. A grey circle means not started.
How the progress percentage works
The percentage is the share of unlocked cards marked complete. The Game Schedule card is excluded from the denominator while it is locked, so the bar can hit 100% with five cards or with four if Game Schedule is still locked. Once you add a second team, Game Schedule unlocks and the bar will dip — that's expected.
Marking a step complete
Each card except Season Basics has a Mark complete button. The hub auto-detects progress when possible (a card with one or more teams becomes "in-progress" automatically), but the explicit toggle lets you say "I'm done with this part" even if more work could in theory be added.
Setting the season as active
The status badge at the top reads Upcoming, Active, or Previous. Only one season per league can be Active at a time. If a different season is currently Active, marking this one Active will demote the other to Previous. The button is hidden once the season is already Active.
When you're stuck
- Game Schedule won't unlock — you need at least two teams. Open Teams & Captains and add another.
- Registration count looks low — the count includes only players who completed the registration form. Captains adding players to their roster does not register them for the season's draft pool.
- Schedule & Venues card stays "Not configured" — the venues and time slots live at the league level, not the season level. Tap the card to open the league venues page.
